Deer Camp 2009-----Lila

Lila was lucky and didn't get sick like Hali and Abby so she was able to spend a lot a time at the deer camp. She spent a few nights with Papa and Grandma in their trailer so she wouldn't have to come home with us. She was on a horse or a 4wheeler any chance she could get and she loved every second! Lila's front tooth has been really loose for a while so one day when Crea was up at camp with her he and Kyle yanked it out! Crea said that she screamed and cried but when she called to tell me about loosing another tooth she was excited to get it under her pillow so the tooth fairy would come. She loved having a few days off of school but she was excited to go back. She is a great student and such a great helper at home. We couldn't do without her.

Lila and Tori about 2 minutes after we got there!

Deer Camp 2009-----Hali

Hali loves the deer camp. She was so sad when she got sick and I wouldn't take her up but the time she spent up there she made to most of...she never slowed down, unless it was to drink some hot chocolate! Hali says the funniest things...As we were driving up one night she said:
Hali- "Dad, did you bring the Baby gun?"
Dad- "What?"
Hali- "Did you bring the Ba-by gun for me?"
Crea laughing- "Oh, the BB gun- yeah, I brought it."

The next night as we pulled into camp: (you have to imagine her sick, raspy, excited voice!)
Hali-"I'm so excited!"
Me-"Why?"
Hali-"I'm gonna tell 'em we brought DORITOS!!"

A few days later:
Me- "You're going to go to grandmas house."
Hali- "Which Grandma?"
Me- "Grandma Deb."
Hali- "Dad's Grandma?"
Me- "No, Grandma Deb is Dad's Mom...Grandma Katherine is Dad's Grandma."
Hali-"Oh, the teeny Grandma." (she said this while holding her thumb and index finger slightly apart. Grandma Katherine is about 5 ft tall and 85 lbs max!)

This one happens all the time when we sit down for dinner:
Hali- "Mom, you made us dinner! Thank you Mom! This is the best dinner ever!"

We sit down for dinner together almost ever night so she caught me off guard and every time she says it she is so sincere and excited like it is the first time she has ever had tacos, spaghetti....anything! She is such a joy!

As soon as we got to camp Hali jumped on a horse with Aubrey!

Deer Camp 2009-----Abby

I need to start this entry with some back story from earlier this year: Several months ago Abby started running a fever.... I kept giving her Tylenol every four hours as instructed on the little bottle and waiting for a runny nose or some other symptoms but there wasn't anything. Well, on about the third day her fever shot up to about 104 so Crea and I took her in to the ER. While in the ER she had a Febrile Seizure. It was the scariest experience we have ever had with our kids. The Doctors and Nurses just said that she must have spiked a fever and that she was fine. I did not feel fine! They ran all kinds of tests and kept her overnight and finally decided that it was just a virus and that she must run high fevers. So now we are very careful to alternate every two hours with meds to keep her fever down...I don't know what we would have done if it had happened at home. Seizures are scary but watching our little Abby have one was a nightmare.

So this year just before deer camp Abby started to run a fever and woke up in the night with the Croup....I hate the croup. We took her in and they gave her a injection of a steroid to relax her airway and that really helped. By the time we got home from the Dr., Hali had started running a fever and that night she had the croup.....FUN! I was not about to take them up to the Mt. in the cold and dirt so I stayed home for the first few days with them. I finally decided to brave it and took them up in the evenings for dinner and then we would head home to bathe and medicate. They had a lot of fun and by the end of the weekend the fevers were gone!

Abby loves Kaylee and will usually go to her before me.

Abby likes to climb....I'm so afraid she is going to break her little neck.

Quick family pictures!

We haven't taken a family picture since Abby was tiny and I needed one to send in for my 10 year HS reunion so I handed Tami our camera and told the kids to smile! I didn't realize that the hardest person to get a good picture of was CREA! We took about 25 pictures and Crea only smiled in about 5 and his eyes were closed in 3 of those. This is the one I used and here are some more to laugh at!

For some reason our camera kept making Abbys lips black?!?

Berry Picking!

About a year ago we helped a couple in our ward plant LOTS of berry bushes and a few weeks ago they invited everyone to come and pick some rasberries. Mel, Grandma Christensen, and I took Abby and Hali and picked berries for a few hours. Hali was a great helper and loved picking the "yucky strawberries" and Abby ate all the rasberries she could get her hands on! By the time we left, both girls were sticky and filthy.
